I stared at spreadsheets for nearly an hour without accomplishing a single thing. My anxiety was through the roof, and I kept imagining my manager questioning the gap in my log. Very annoyingly and loudly.
But at the end of the day when I opened the system and noticed that someone on my team had already entered “project research” for that time block. It was work I was supposed to be doing anyway.
