Five years ago, a knock at the fire station door changed my life. On a stormy night, I found an abandoned newborn wrapped in a tattered blanket. That fragile boy became my son, and our world was forever altered when an unexpected visitor arrived.

It was a quiet night when my partner, Joe, and I heard a faint cry. We found a newborn in a basket near the door. After a stint in CPS care, I knew I had to adopt him. I named him Leo, and despite the challenges, we became a family.
