Elizabeth Wilson, a veteran actress who played the mother of Dustin Hoffman‘s Ben Braddock character in the 1967 film “The Graduate,” has died according to the New York Times. She was 94.
The stage and film veteran died Saturday in New Haven, Connecticut. Her on screen credits include the 1980 comedy “9 to 5” and the TV miniseries “Nutcracker: Money, Madness and Murder,” for which she received an Emmy nomination.

The actress’ stage work included the David Rabe play “Sticks and Bones,” which earned Wilson — who played the mother of a blinded Vietnam veteran — a Tony Award in 1972.
Wilson, born April 4, 1921 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, first performed on Broadway in 1953’s “Picnic,” playing a schoolteacher. She would play the role again in the movie adaptation. Her other stage credits included “Morning’s at Seven,” about four aging sisters in the Midwest, as well as the 1996 revival of Edward Albee’s “A Delicate Balance.”
Aside from the “Nutcracker” miniseries, Wilson appeared on television offerings such as “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” “All in the Family” and the mid-’70s sitcom “Doc.”.
Wilson, who never married, is survived by her sister, as well as several nieces and nephews.
